RSU's Got Talent Update

Good news! And this doesn't have to do with "Chariots A'Comin".

There will not be a charge for admission for RSU's Got Talent! Yay!

However, we will be accepting donations at the door. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Spread the news. Tell your friends, family, bosses, dogs, and cats. We want this to be extravagant.

PLC Blog Begins.

Hello Hillcats! My name is Zach Coker. This blog is devoted to a scholarship program that I have the privilege to be a part of here at Rogers State University called the President's Leadership Class(PLC). PLC is a wonderful program focused on developing leadership skills in its members. The program is headed by two of Claremore's best leaders; Stratton and Dr. Carolyn Taylor. As PLC members, we are involved on campus, and the community surrounding RSU. We have the opportunity of meeting frequently with President Rice and discussing what can be done to make RSU the best it can be. This blog will further help to highlight how we are doing so.

Now that I am done explaining PLC, I will talk a little about myself. I am a sophomore here at the lovely Rogers State University. I graduated from East Central High School (go cards) in 2009. In high school I played football, was the STUCO President two years in a row, sang in our Honors Choir, and participated in various other activities. I enjoy being involved and contributing as much as I can. Here at RSU, I am a member of PLC, the Mind Games team (http://www.ksbitv.com/mind-games), and SGA. You may see me around campus quite a bit. If so, don't be afraid to approach me. I'm easy going and enjoy meeting people.

So what are some things PLC is doing lately? I imagine every single reader is furiously curious. I also imagine myself the next Dr. Seuss.

PLC will be hosting a talent show soon! All types of talents are welcome! Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at 7 PM in the Will Rogers Auditorium, a talent show will take place of preposterous proportions! Actually it will probably be normal proportions, but it will be excellent! There will be a charge for admission. It is still being discussed. It will not be more than five hundred dollars, or less than a penny. I can promise that.

If anyone would like to try out, good! We can arrange that. It has been arranged. We have dates! February 27-28, from 5-8PM in the Centennial Center ballrooms B&C will be auditions. So far the discussions in class have learned towards no fee for auditioning. I do believe that will be the case, but I will post confirmation when I have it. Those are the ballrooms on the second floor up the curved stair case in the main rotunda. PLC would love to have a big turn out this year. This is in part a fundraiser for PLC, but also an great chance to prove how talented our student body is. It is also fun.

So this is how the blog will go. I will try to blog weekly. I assume they will be Wednesday right after the PLC class so all the information needed is fresh on my mind. I hope everyone finds this blog to be helpful and entertaining! I look forward to posting more.
